**Job Title:** Bakery Machinery Mechanic

**Overview:** Redstone Foods Group Ltd., a Canadian commercial bakery, is seeking a skilled Bakery Machinery Mechanic to join our technical team. The role focuses on maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced bakery machinery to ensure efficient and safe production of high-quality baked goods.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Machinery Installation, Maintenance & Troubleshooting:** - Inspect, maintain, and repair various bakery production equipment including mixers, proofers, ovens, and packaging systems. - Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to reduce downtime. - Calibrate control systems to meet operational specifications. - Rebuild or replace defective parts. - Perform daily machinery calibrations.

2. **Preventative Maintenance Program:** - Implement and monitor preventative maintenance schedules. - Perform diagnostics, lubrication, checks, and part replacements. - Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment logs.

3. **Health, Safety & Compliance:** - Comply with GMPs and food safety standards. - Conduct safety inspections and ensure machinery meets compliance regulations. - Document and report potential hazards.

4. **Coordination with External Technicians:** - Liaise with specialized service providers for advanced issues or calibration work. - Oversee contractor work to ensure safety and quality.

5. **Inventory and Parts Management:** - Manage stock of critical spare parts and tools. - Coordinate ordering to prevent operational delays.

6. **Continuous Improvement:** - Recommend and implement equipment modifications for efficiency. - Support capital upgrade projects and new machinery installations.

**Qualifications:** - Hands-on experience with high-speed bakery machinery (e.g., Mecatherm systems, ovens, mixers, conveyors). - Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electromechanical systems. - Knowledge of food safety and compliance standards. - Ability to maintain precise maintenance records and perform preventative measures. Education Requirements
• Completion of at least a secondary diploma or trade apprenticeship in industrial mechanics, electromechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred. Trade certification in this Occupation is Voluntary in Ontario. • Minimum 2–3 years of industrial mechanic experience, preferably in food manufacturing or baking environments. • Strong understanding of bakery machinery, process automation, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation practices. • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, work in hot/cold environments, and navigate confined spaces.

• Fast-paced production environment with exposure to industrial ovens and automated machinery. • Rotating shifts may be required depending on production schedules. • Use of PPE is mandatory in designated zones.
