Job Description – Mobile Network Testing Engineer (Field Drive) – Canada

Job Summary

The client is seeking experienced Mobile Network Testing Engineers to support leading telecom operators across Canada. The selected candidates will be responsible for validating and optimizing LTE, 5G NSA/SA, VoLTE, VoNR, and IMS services through field and lab testing. The role involves executing drive tests, troubleshooting network issues, validating new features, and delivering high-quality performance reports.

Key Responsibilities

·       Execute field drive testing for LTE, 5G NSA/SA, VoLTE, VoNR, and IMS services.

·       Perform functional, interoperability, mobility, and performance testing.

·       Conduct Single Site Verification (SSV), Cluster Acceptance Testing (CAT), and End-to-End network validation.

·       Analyze RF performance KPIs including:

·       RSRP

·       RSRQ

·       SINR

·       CQI

·       Throughput

·       Handover Success Rate

·       Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR)

·       Drop Call Rate (DCR)

·       Validate voice, data, SMS, emergency services, and roaming scenarios.

·       Execute mobility testing including Inter-RAT and Intra-RAT handovers.

·       Identify network issues and provide detailed root cause analysis.

·       Prepare daily test reports, issue logs, and KPI summaries.

·       Coordinate with RF Optimization, RAN, Core Network, and Customer Engineering teams.

Required Skills

·       Strong knowledge of:

·       LTE

·       5G NR

·       VoLTE

·       VoNR

·       IMS

·       TCP/IP Networking

·       Experience in drive testing and field validation.

·       Good understanding of RAN architecture and Core Network concepts.

·       Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot network performance issues.

Preferred Experience

·       2–8+ years in Mobile Network Testing or Telecom Validation.

·       Experience with Canadian telecom operators is preferred.

·       Knowledge of Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, or Mavenir RAN solutions is an advantage.

·       Experience with Open RAN (O-RAN) deployments is desirable.
